We’re excited to announce that IFWE has entered the blogosphere. Check out our new blog: “Creativity. Purpose. Freedom.” Our first post gives you an explanation behind the name and the three “core pillars” that animate and direct our research. We’re eager to begin a conversation with you about the vision that brought us together as an organization: transforming communities, our nation and our world by equipping Christians with a Biblical theology of work and economics. We hope that our posts will be a source of education and inspiration for you and others and that you will provide us your honest feedback.
The blog will feature a variety of voices including IFWE staff, research fellows, visiting scholars, and others. Our plan is to start out with a major emphasis on faith and work and specifically on some of the key Biblical truths that we’ll be investigating and talking about here at IFWE. Ideas such as calling, the Kingdom of God, the Cultural Mandate, the “Four-Chapter Gospel”, reweaving shalom, and many more. IFWE Executive Director Hugh Whelchel will be leading that effort by sharing with you some ideas from his upcoming book How Then Should We Work? Rediscovering the Biblical Doctrine of Work.
We’ll also begin to weave into the conversation some fundamental economic principles from a Biblical perspective. Among others, we’ll discuss the concepts of scarcity, comparative advantage, value creation, wealth, poverty, and economic freedom.
We also hope that the blog will equip you with ways to easily share these ideas with your friends, family, and colleagues. You can sign up to receive our content our follow us on Facebook or Twitter at:
