Looking Back with Gratitude, Looking Ahead with Hope

As 2025 draws to a close, I want to take a moment to say thank you for being a part of our community at the Institute for Faith, Work & Economics (IFWE). Your encouragement, readership, and financial partnership have sustained our work in equipping Christians to think biblically about faith, work, and economics. We don’t take your support of our mission for granted, and we are deeply grateful.

This year was filled with meaningful continuity as well as major transition. You may remember that at the end of 2024, we announced that IFWE was joining the Institute for Faith & Culture (IFC) and becoming part of the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church family of ministries. That announcement marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for all of us.

In the months since, our teams at IFWE and IFC have been prayerfully and strategically working together to plan a future that honors the unique history of each organization while leaning into our combined strengths. Through every conversation and decision in this season of transition, I’ve been encouraged by the unwavering commitment to IFWE’s mission and message. Dr. Rob Pacienza, along with the leadership at Coral Ridge, IFC, and our broader team, has made it clear that preserving IFWE’s distinct voice and honoring the legacy of our late co-founder, Hugh Whelchel, is a priority.

Like many of you, I was honored to know Hugh; his mentorship shaped my understanding of a biblical theology of work. It gives me hope for IFWE’s future to see that vision being stewarded through this time of change and transition. Hugh’s passion for helping Christians understand the biblical meaning of work still animates everything we do, and his vision continues to shape the road ahead.

Doing a merger well is hard work. It takes thoughtful stewardship of the history and legacy of both organizations. It also takes creativity and perseverance to solve unique and complex problems that do not have easy answers. But we know that all work matters. That includes the quiet, behind-the-scenes work of planning, organizing, and building something new.

Our team is striving to carry out this transition in a way that honors the past, leans into our combined strengths, and continues to serve you with excellence. Even in the midst of these changes, our goal remains the same. We want to create content that adds value to your life and points you toward Christ in every area of your calling.

The Work Continues

Even as we’ve engaged in behind-the-scenes planning for the future, the core work of IFWE has carried on. Our blog has continued to publish three times each week, offering practical theology and biblical insight to help believers connect their work with their faith.

One major milestone this year was IFWE’s collaboration with The Washington Times on a special report titled Faith at Work: Economic Flourishing and Securing Our Future. This thirty-six-page report, released in September, brought together nationally recognized political leaders (such as Speaker Newt Gingrich, Sen. Tim Scott, and Dr. Alveda King), thought leaders (including David Bahnsen, Dr. Jonathan Pennington, and Mike Sharrow) and long-time IFWE voices (including Dr. Anne Bradley and Dr. Art Lindsley) to explore the biblical foundations of work, economics, and cultural engagement. This project reached a national audience and reinforced IFWE’s position as a trusted source in the faith and work movement.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Behind the scenes, we’ve been hard at work preparing for a relaunch in 2026 that will bring renewed clarity and focus to IFWE and IFC. Here’s a preview of what’s to come:

  • Clear communication about how IFWE and IFC will come together under a single brand
  • A brand-new website that will house both IFWE and IFC content
  • Simplified email subscription options to help readers find the content most relevant to them
  • A revamped e-commerce bookstore, featuring updated versions of our most popular resources, including our high school curriculum
  • Expanded publishing projects, including new formats and contributors
  • And thanks to our affiliation with Coral Ridge Ministries, we’ll have the ability to develop new media resources, including audio and video content, to reach broader audiences through podcasts, video teaching, and more

Your Continued Partnership Matters

As we prepare for these exciting developments, we ask for your continued support. Whether through prayer, sharing our content, or giving financially, your involvement plays a vital role in our mission. Here are three ways you can partner with us at the close of 2025:

  1. Pray

Please pray for our staff and leadership as we navigate this season of growth and change. Ask the Lord to give us wisdom, unity, and discernment, and to bless the work of our hands so that everything we do brings glory to him.

  1. Subscribe & Share

If you’re not already subscribed to our emails, now is the perfect time. Staying connected means you’ll be the first to hear about new resources and announcements in the new year. And if IFWE’s content has impacted you, consider forwarding an article or sharing our website with a friend who might benefit as well.

  1. Give

If you’ve never given to IFWE, or if it’s been a while, would you prayerfully consider making a year-end gift? Donations to IFWE now go through IFC and are directed to a special fund specifically for the IFWE projects outlined above. Your gift will help us continue building on our legacy, launching new initiatives, and reaching more people with biblical truths that will encourage and inspire them in their vocation.

From all of us at IFWE, thank you for standing with us in this season. We are filled with gratitude for all that God has done, and we’re filled with hope for what’s ahead.

May the new year bring fresh opportunities for us all to serve God through our work and calling.
